As part of her school education, Chloé had to do a Journée des Métiers (“Day in Industry”). When I saw that nobody in our group signed up, I decided to spend my day introducing this 12-year-old girl to the works of CERN.
We followed several tours through CERN and had lunch with a group of physics students who shared their insights into working at CERN. After that we visited some more installations and exhibitions. The next day her mother sent me a message to thank me and to inform me that she decided to become a scientist at CERN, but read for yourself:
Mission completed! Seems like this was one of the more productive days I had at CERN so far.
